Streets: Conor Harrington (Warsaw)

Continuing to share his “fight club” imagery with the public, Conor Harrington (interviewed) recently completed a new mural for Street Art Doping in Warsaw. Painted over several days, the fresh piece features some of the Irish artist’s recognizable colonial figures getting ready for some one-on-one fisticuffs. Other artists slated to make their mark in the Polish capital include 1010, Ernest Zacharevic, 108, and CT. Discuss Conor Harrington here.

British muralist and illustrator, Phlegm, recently spent a couple days in the Polish capital, Warsaw, working on a new mural for the Street Art Doping festival. Once again, he got assigned an interesting wall by the organizers, with several different sized windows and parts of the plaster missing. Maurizio Cattelan – “AMEN” @ Centre for Contemporary Art (Warsaw)

The always provocative contemporary artist Maurizio Cattelan is once again stirring up controversy, this time in relation to his current showing at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. In addition to sculptural works for the museum, he has also placed a statue of Adolf Hitler praying on his knees in a former Jewish Ghetto where many Jews were killed or sent to their deaths by Hitler’s regime during the holocaust.
