It’s time to update you on something that German duo Herakut have been working on recently – The Giant Storybook Project. Acting on their long-time desires to create a children’s book, Jasmin (interviewed) and Falk have taken to the streets around the world to paint the “pages” of their story. Upcoming: Geoff McFetridge – “Floating” @ Cooper Cole

Coming up on November 8th, the LA-based Geoff McFetridge makes a return to his native country of Canada for his first showing there. Collectively entitled Floating, the new paintings will be put on display at the Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto where fans will be able to admire his simple style that seems to walk the line between two and three dimensional space. Preview: Tristram Lansdowne – “Fata Morgana” @ LE Gallery

After a showing at the LE Gallery in 2010 (covered), Canadian artist Tristram Lansdowne (interviewed) returns to the Toronto showspace for another solo come October 5th. Consisting of about ten watercolours, five new etching editions, and a sculpture, the new body of work is entitled Fata Morgana (defined as an unusual and complex form of superior mirage that is seen in a narrow band right above the horizon). Showing: Maya Hayuk – “Multi Versus” @ Cooper Cole Gallery

Earlier this month, Maya Hayuk made her return to Toronto (see 2011) for a showing at the Cooper Cole Gallery. Entiteld Multi Versus, the new body of work continues to explore the NY-based artist’s fascination with patterns, geometric shapes, and symmetry all rendered in a kaleidoscopic mix of colors.  The exhibition will run through October 6th so head over for a look-see if you are in the area. Next Thursday (September 6th) in Toronto, the Cooper Cole Gallery will be hosting a reception for the opening of Maya Hayuk new solo show. Multi Versus will feature the NY-based artist’s distorted symmetry and unusual pattern’s all rendered in a kaleidoscopic mix of colors. Streets: World Roundup (June 11 – 17)

We start this weeks roundup of street activity with this new fun piece from Dabs Myla. As you can see, their choice of subject matter was quite interesting and can be summed up by their description – “Poop Shooting, Vampire Dicking, and Crack Smoking.” The piece was painted for Roger Gastman for his backyard (thus the Orioles reference). Showing: Andrew Schoultz & Richard Colman – “Destroyer” @ Cooper Cole

Renewing the the synergy found in Copenhagen during their joint show, Andrew Schoultz and Richard Colman headed up north to work together on another exhibtion – Destroyer. Held at Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto, the two friends brought along some of their signature imagery in the form of paintings as well as some sweet indoor murals. Streets / Teaser: Andrew Schoultz & Richard Colman – “Destroyer” @ Cooper Cole

On June 1st, Andrew Schoultz and Richard Colman will once again open a joint show together since the last time in Copenhagen in March (covered). This time, the two friends and artists will be taking their paintings up north to Toronto for an exhibition at Cooper Cole collectively entitled Destroyer. Openings: Tessar Lo – “Past, Present, Past-Present” @ Cooper Cole

A couple weeks ago, the Cooper Cole Gallery held court for attendees of Tessar Lo’s newest solo show titled Past, Present, Past-Present. The new body of work included medium to large-scale pieces featuring dream-like abstract imagery centered on his boy & animal characters and painted with rich and lush colors. Also, available will be a sculptural edition, don’t say, dansé, produced by Dark Matters in an edition of 25 for those interested. More opening photos after the jump…
