Tomorrow night (June 1st) in Los Angeles, Thinkspace will be opening a special exhibition from two street artists known to work on the miniature scale. Releases: Slinkachu – “BRANDED” Edition

Over the holidays,  Slinkachu released a quickly sold out edition that cleverly satires our love for commercialism with his signature miniatures. The 20 unique BRANDED pieces mimic some of the original installations the London-based artist has left in Paris, Grottaglie (Italy), and Dubai and features some of the most sought after brands out there. Previews: “The New Vanguard II” @ Lancaster MOAH

Following up on The New Vanguard show back in 2016 (covered), the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH), again in collaboration with Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Gallery, will be opening the second iteration of the group exhibition on October 20th. Showing: Slinkachu @ The Museum of Fine Arts (Ghent, Belgium)

Currently at the The Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, Slinkachu has some works on view as part of a new group show Manufactories of Caring Space-Time. Not only does the UK-based artist have his signature miniatures on view that are part of the museum’s permanent collection inside but also has some installations outdoors as is his practice. POW! WOW! Long Beach ’16 / Openings: “Vitality & Verve: In the Third Dimension” @ LBMA

Streets: Slinkachu (Dubai)

Recently in the UAE, miniature street sculptor Slinkachu created 10 new works Dubai Walls. These installations were hidden in plain site by the British street artist who will also be contributing some photography for a huge open-air wall in City Walk. POW! WOW! Hawaii ’16 / Streets: Slinkachu

After a look (here & here) at most of the murals painted for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, we now focus in on some of the work for the event that you may have missed. Created on a miniature level by Slinkachu, the tiny sculptures were scattered and hidden in plain site around Oahu, including underneath some of the muralists, leading to some interesting collaborations. POW! WOW! Hawaii ’16 / Streets: In Progress

Starting this week, artists have been hard at work painting murals for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii. Beautifying the streets of Kaka’ako in Oahu with their imagery, the participants get to enjoy the tropical weather and throngs of fans as they leave their mark at the annual event. Tomorrow (February 7th) will mark the third time Thinkspace has curated a show in association with POW! WOW! Hawaii at the Honolulu Museum of Art School (see 2015 & 2014). Upcoming: Slinkachu @ MAR Museum of Art

Every year, three critics under 40 choose three artists under 40 to show at the MAR Museum of Art in Ravenna, Italy as part of the annual Critica In Arte exhibition (opening tonight, November 28th). This year, Slinkachu was chosen by Davide Caroli to put on display a selection of photographs documenting his work on the streets staging clever scenes with his miniatures, like the one seen above created in Moscow in 2012 entitled All Alone.
