Openings: Direct Address @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Last week, we attended Joshua Liner’s opening of his new Chelsea gallery with a group exhibition entitled Direct Address. The expansive ground-floor space was filled with a impressive collection of works by The Clayton Brothers, David Ellis, Evan Hecox, Jean-Pierre Roy, Kris Kuksi (above), Richard Colman, Stephen Powers, SWOON, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Tony Curanaj and others. The event surely heralds great things for the future of the gallery. See all our pics from the opening below.

Last week, Joshua Liner Gallery held its annual Summer Group Exhibition. We were excited about the diverse showcase of talent as this has been a perennial preview of the talent which will be gracing the walls of the gallery for this upcoming art season. We all hit bumps in the road, but with a little help we can all overcome any obstacles. As mentioned previously, a good friend of AM and assistant director of Joshua Liner Gallery, Tim Strazza, was unfortunately diagnosed with a Multiple Sclerosis. We helped sponsor a fundraiser created by the gallery to generate funds that went to support Tim and his medical bills. This Thursday, a very special art fundraiser will be held at Joshua Liner Gallery for our friend Tim Strazza who was unfortunately diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. We are helping to sponsor a benefit event where all proceeds will go to his medical bills. Last week saw the opening of Tibetan master painter Pema Rinzin’s first New York solo show Compassion Transformed at the Joshua Liner Gallery, and the sizable crowd in attendance couldn’t have been more impressed with what they saw. We recently had the honor of visiting the studio of Pema Rinzin as he was preparing for his solo exhibition entitled Compassion Transformed, which opens January 27 at the Joshua Liner Gallery. Rinzin is a master of traditional Tibetan Thangka painting and also founder of the New York Tibetan Art Studio, where he passes on his knowledge and skill.
