Wonderful Land marks David Benjamin Sherry’s second solo exhibition at OHWOW and features photographs from the American Western and Southwestern states, taken with a large format, handmade, analog wooden film camera over the course of several months. The artist prints each image in his own darkroom, creating vivid and detailed images with brilliant colors. If you remember earlier this year, we told you about a new book by Scott Campbell entitled If You Don’t Belong, Don’t Be Long. As you may know, the good folks at OHWOW have a fresh new retail location called the OHWOW Book Club in New York which was the perfect setting for a recent book signing by Campbell for his new publication. It just wouldn’t be Art Basel Miami week without fantastical Floridians Friends With You. To kick off Art Basel, Miami staple OHWOW Gallery opened two ambitious shows last night – the group effort “It Ain’t Fair 2009” as well as David Lynch, Sparklehorse and Danger Mouse’s “Dark Night of the Soul.” With heavy hitters such as Kaws, Barry McGee and Jose Parla, combined with David Lynch’s photography and Danger Mouse’s music, OHWOW has further cemented themselves as the leaders in the Miami art scene.
