Releases: Faith XLVII x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle

Following in the footsteps of a long line of artists who have collaborated with Hennessy on their VS Cognac Bottle, Faith XLVII recently unveiled her contribution to the project. As the first female voice to join the Limited Editions series, the South African artist took inspiration from ancient alchemical manuscripts, sundials and calendars with a design that speaks to the seasons and the cyclical order of planetary movements. Take a look at the video below to hear more of her thoughts behind the collaboration… Discuss Faith47 here.

Installation: Faith XLVII & Lyall Sprong – “Astronomy Nova”

During the recent Artscape Festival in Sweden, Faith XLVII teamed up with Lyall Sprong to create an immersive site specific installation set deep in the Värmland forest. Depicting the moon glowing and rotating within the tall trees, this piece is another example of how the South African-born artist is stepping further away from the classic street/urban art niche. The artists describe the piece as a “homage to our great timekeepers and the ancient internal rhythms that predate the construct of time, an ode to our connection with the external forces that define us.” Astronomy […]

She further states – “The lotus, while rooted in the mud, blossoms on long stalks floating above the mud. This ability for something so strong and pure growing out of dirty water is symbolic of our […]
