Opening last Thursday at Joseph Gross Gallery was Night & Day, an exhibition featuring the work of 9 multi-disciplinary artists: Lucinda Grange, Erik Otto, Jason Peters, LaLa Abaddon, Boris Ipsum, George Kroenert, Will Penny, Dave Singley, and Eric Ruggiero. The show, which was conceived, organized, and curated by the gallery’s director Lynzy Blair, centers on pieces that have dual lives, one in daylight and one in darkness. Openings: “Space//Squared” @ White Walls Gallery

Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). This time around, participating artists were again asked to contribute artwork in a 10 x 10″ format. Streets: Forest For The Trees – Murals in Portland

Over the last couple of weeks, organisers and curators Gage Hamiliton and Matt Wagner (of Hellion Gallery) have assembled 15 international artists to participate in Forest For The Trees. The mural project in Portland, Oregon saw Blaine Fontana (work pictured above), Erik Otto, Kamea Hadar, Gage Hamiliton, J. Shea, Marcelo Macedo, MADSTEEZ, Michael Salter, MHAK, MEGGS, Oyama Enrico Isamu Letter, Sam Rodriguez, Rone, Taka Sudo, Yoskay Yamamoto, Zach Yarrington and Jun Inoue all participate in the city-wide project to bring art to previously bare walls. Following-up on Hueless (covered), which consisted of all black and white art, Chelsea’s Mallick Williams & Co. recently opened a new exhibition entitled Spectrum, which is aptly named not only because of its array of vibrantly colorful works, but also because the group show features a wide range of contemporary painters, including Chor Boogie, Lu Gold, Kiji McCafferty, Erik Otto and Kate Pane.
