Openings: D*Face – “Going Nowhere Fast” @ Corey Helford Gallery

Last night, one of the hottest spots in Culver City was the opening of D*Face’s (featured) show Going Nowhere Fast at the Corey Helford Gallery.  The next-level Lichtenstein inspired pieces combined with the sweet highly visible mural (covered) as well as his street intervention on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (covered) brought out his fans (new and old) in droves and led to brisk sales. The UK-based street artist did not disappoint with a well-rounded and versatile body of work including large-scale canvases, installation pieces, […]

Streets: D*Face (Los Angeles) – Part II

Reminiscent of the Zombie Oscar Statues he installed in Runyon Canyon and in the parking lot of the famous Mel’s Drive-In in Hollywood in 2010, D*Face (featured) placed a custom tombstone early this morning at the Charlie Sheen star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Make sure you stop by on Saturday night at the Corey Helford Gallery to check out his new body of work entitled Going Nowhere Fast (for a preview, see our studio visit) and also to enjoy the mural he painted […]

Streets: D*Face (Los Angeles) – Part I

We will certainly be looking forward to seeing more of this fresh new direction at the opening and you can also expect more coverage […]

AM has been anticipating what Face would come up with for this show, as he always turns up the heat for solo exhibitions and brings in new themes. We went along to his studio recently to see how the work was coming together and grabbed a few shots of […]

Teaser: D*Face – “Going Nowhere Fast” @ Corey Helford

It sounds like D*Face (interviewed) will be spending some extended time in Los Angeles soon as he will be showing at the Corey Helford in April and during BritWeek in May (with Mear One). For this new body of work entitled Going Nowhere Fast, D will be immortalizing the deaths of America’s most illustrious icons from Andy Warhol to Michael Jackson with paintings, sculptures and installations. On display as well will be a series of works – Flutterdies – fashioned from butterflies and insects combined […]
