Openings: COPE2 – “World’s Famous Bubble!” @ Halvandet

Just last weekend, legendary Bronx writer COPE2 paid a visit to Copenhagen for the opening of his show at Halvandet. Not only did he bring a plethora of variations of his famous bubble tag, he also worked in an outdoor mural for his fans and was sighted at the Shepard Fairey show. Preview / Setup: COPE2 – “World’s Famous Bubble!” @ Halvandet (Copenhagen)

After a showing just last month in Los Angeles, COPE2 takes his famous throwup’s internationally as he prepares for an opening in Denmark tomorrow, August 6th. The new body of work entitled World’s Famous Bubble focuses on his iconic bubble lettering and looks to be produced on site at Halvandet in Copenhagen. Openings: COPE2 – “AUTHENTIC” @ Maximillian Gallery

Several months after hitting up his home city with a show (covered), NY graf legend COPE2 travels to the other coast for a show in Los Angeles. AUTHENTIC, which opened last week at Maximillian Gallery, is billed as his first solo in the City of Angels and is a retrospective featuring throwups, pieces, his signature MTA subway maps, and miniature subway trains. Releases: Shepard Fairey x COPE x Martha Cooper Print

Reuniting three major players from the Art in the Streets exhibition, this latest release from OBEY Giant features the photography of Martha Cooper (interviewed) of a wall with Shepard Fairey (featured) and COPE’s work on it, all distilled through Shep’s distinctive filter.  The 18 x 24″ signed screen print will be released today, April 21st, online at a random time with a limited run of 450 and priced at $60 for those interested. Openings: “Artefacts” @ TT Underground Gallery

Thursday night, AM attended the grand opening of Toy Tokyo’s new gallery TT Underground. The newly christened space held a group street art exhibition that included works from Shepard Fairey’s (featured), Swoon (interviewed), Mister Cartoon, Koralie, Lin “Quik” Felton, James & Karla Murray, Cope2, Owen Dippie, Rime MSK, Estevan Oriol, Clayton Patterson, Faust and Katsu. The gallery was packed from the get go as the crowd was hyped to check out the diverse lineup. Check it out after the jump.
