Earlier this month at the Eleanor Harwood Gallery in San Francisco, Keven E. Taylor put on a show within a show in a sense as he rendered various animals, birds, and fish on display inside his paintings at what looks to be a museum. A couple weeks ago, Marion Peck along with husband Mark Ryden hosted a book signing for Peck’s first fine art monograph, Animal Love Summer, at Sloan Fine Art in New York. This coincided with her recently opened and current show What You Are, So Once Were We which featured new paintings (large and small) and sculptural pieces. Anish Kapoor, arguably the most famous sculptor alive, recently returned to India for his first solo exhibition split between Delhi at the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai, the city where he was born. New York’s highly prestigious Sikkema Jenkins & Co. had many ooohs and aahs by visitors at their Art Basel Miami Beach booth due particularly to the piece above by one of the most talked-about artists recently – Mark Bradford.
