For one 4-day weekend, the spectacular Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood was the site of the first ever Art Los Angeles Contemporary, which took place January 28-31.  Almost every top gallery in Los Angeles and a few from around the world participated in the event, showing new works from emerging to internationally-recognized blue chip artists.  In addition to the exhibitors, the fair also hosted a series of special programming throughout Los Angeles, including artist lectures, panels, events and film screenings.  Of course, AM was on-hand and will provide you with wall-to-wall coverage throughout the coming days.

More after the jump…

As one of the premier cities in the world for contemporary art, including being home to internationally renowned museums, top-tier art schools, important galleries, and some of the world’s best artists, not to mention having the most ideal weather anywhere, Los Angeles is poised for a stand-out, mark your calenders every year-type fair.  Hopefully, Art Los Angeles Contemporary can become that event. So far, the future looks bright.
