The Brooklyn Museum recently announced the launching of a new type of museum membership program that builds on the popularity and connectivity of online social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Called 1stfans, the program gives members access to the museum’s First Saturday events, where they will be able to meet and interact with other members and museum staff. Also, 1stfans will be kept up to date with museum news and events via Facebook, Twitter and email. And for the formal 1stfans launch on Saturday, January 3rd, all members who have signed up prior to that day are invited to visit the museum for a special, live-printing event by Swoon’s studio, where they can bring a piece of paper to be printed on and walk away with their very own Swoon print.

See and hear more about 1stfans in a trio of videos, after the jump.
